Advanced Search Engine Optimization: Reflections & Outcomes

The eighth course I've taken in my Digital Marketing Masters at Full Sail University is Advanced Search Engine Optimization. In this course, I created documentation on Spyfu.com Competitor Analysis, PPC Campaign Pitch, Healthy Website Architecture, and Local Search Optimization.


Additionally, I participated in four discussion boards where I was able to contribute to meaningful conversations amongst my peers about Keyword Strategies, Additional Competitor Insights, Internal vs External SEO: Link Building, and Website Over-Optimization.


I will be reflecting on the elements from this course that correspond with some of the topics covered in the final project of the program:


Overview of Keywords and Phrases

In Spyfu.com Competitor Analysis and PPC Campaign Pitch, I identified keywords and phrases for my case study company. Here, I provided an overview, including CPC, search volume, rank, and more.


Rank for Keywords

In Spyfu.com Competitor Analysis and PPC Campaign Pitch, I used tools to uncover where specific keywords ranked for my case study company, as well as specific keyword rankings for competitors that I identified.


Organic Search Breakdown of Competitors & Optimization Strategy

In Spyfu.com Competitor Analysis, I identified three competitors organic search against my case study company's organic search. Here, I provided organic results using Spyfu, identifying organic search volume, keywords, and comparing the pros vs cons from each competitor.


Paid Search Breakdown of Competitors & Optimization Strategy

In Spyfu.com Competitor Analysis, I identified three competitors paid search against my case study company's paid search. Here, I provided paid results using Spyfu, identifying paid search volume, keywords, and comparing the pros vs cons from each competitor. An additional set of two competitors were identified, showing examples of PPC ads, and ultimately creating one for my case study company.





This month's coursework has helped me formulate numerous elements for my final project, a comprehensive digital marketing plan for Baldur's Gate 3, by giving me a greater understanding of search engine optimization through the creation of thorough documentation, research, and discussions. I learned about many SEO strategies that I had no knowledge in prior to taking this course, specifically link building and the corresponding strategies.


As I progress through the Digital Marketing Masters program at Full Sail University, I will be filling in missing elements to various sections on my Digital Marketing Plan for Baldur's Gate 3.
