The ninth course I've taken in my Digital Marketing Masters at Full Sail University is Strategic Internet Public Relations. In this course, I created a Press Release, Distribution Strategy, and Crisis Communication Presentation.
Additionally, I participated in seven discussion boards where I was able to contribute to meaningful conversations amongst my peers about Ethics, Century of Self (documentary), PR Crises & PR Foundations, Goals, Tactics, & Measurement, Internal PR, Press Room & EPK Integration, and Public Relations Writing.
I will be reflecting on the elements from this course that correspond with some of the topics covered in the final project of the program:
Offline Marketing
In my Press Release assignment, I created a game-specific press release, a piece of media that can be utilized in online and offline marketing efforts (print). In the Century of Self discussion, we watched a documentary highlighting the early beginnings of the PR job title, in a time when most marketing efforts were offline.
PR/Communications Plan
In my Press Release assignment and Distribution Strategy assignment, I researched game-specific examples of press releases and applied my learnings to create my own press release for my case study company. I also crafted a detailed distribution strategy, including information about media outlets, journalists/bloggers, and a timeline to coordinate the PR efforts.

This month's coursework has helped me formulate numerous elements for my final project, a comprehensive digital marketing plan for Baldur's Gate 3, by giving me a greater understanding of public relations and communications through the creation of thorough documentation, research, and discussions. I learned about many PR strategies that I had no knowledge in prior to taking this course, specifically creating a press release and a distribution strategy.
As I progress through the Digital Marketing Masters program at Full Sail University, I will be filling in missing elements to various sections on my Digital Marketing Plan for Baldur's Gate 3.
